"I initially ordered a copy of "The First 8 Days of Being a Mom" as a resource to add to my lending library. However upon receiving it, I realized that I had an AMAZING resource in my hands, one that is a must have for every expectant parent. I plan to share "The First 8 Days of Being a Mom" with all of my clients, as I believe that it is an invaluable resource, and will help to relieve a lot of stress surrounding the first days of being home with a new baby!"

Welcome to Motherhood. A look into the postpartum fase.

March 15th 2010.

The ICAN of San Diego invited author Gea to share her special story about delivering and receiving postpartum care on two different continents within 20 months and the manual she translated “The First 8 Days of Being a Mom”. She was accompanied by postpartum doula Doris E. Kitchin PCD, DONA.Doris Kitchin, postpartum doula

It was an interesting evening with a wonderful group of woman that empower and inform each other about this live changing event – giving birth. Everyone filled in a postpartum care survey with questions related to this subject and one of the expectant moms won a copy of The First 8 Days of Being a Mom. She gained the highest score.

It was clear that although all the members were pretty well informed everyone learned something new about postpartum care. And that you can’t do it alone but need help. From a postpartum doula or someone close to you. And the manual can be of great help with that. We call it the ‘paper doula’.

A big thank you goes to Alisa and Shannon for making this evening possible and Babies by the Sea Boutique for their hospitality.
