However upon receiving it, I realized that I had an AMAZING resource in my hands, one that is a must have for every expectant parent. New review from postpartum doula Doris Kitchin

A great find. The First 8 Days of Being a Mom by Gea Meijering.  For me working as a postpartum doula I find this guide of the upmost importance.  Gea has taken the time to brake the first days of a new mother’s life with her baby down in a very comprehendible way.  Starting with The Preparations needed to make your stay at the hospital or your home birth more comfortable, leading right into Day 1 your delivery.  The short, but concise information about The First, Second and Third Stage of Labor is written in such a manner that is easy to understand and serves as a great comfort. Gea quickly moves into Observations after the Delivery such as the Apgar-score, Reflexes, Vitamin K, Antibiotic Eye Ointment and more.  Day 2 will explain what the pediatrician is looking for when she examines your baby. Using The First 8 Days of Being a Mom will help you format questions you may have and then gives you a place in the book to not only jot the question, but also room to add the doctor’s response and advice.  All the information is here now; all you need to do is read and enjoy your new baby one day at a time.
