The original Dutch version of The First 8 Days of Being a Mom, is carefully put together by an editorial team consisting of the specialized nurse, who takes care of the baby and mother at home, a children’s nurse working in the hospital, a lactation specialist, a midwife (who takes care of the majority of the births in the Netherlands), and a pediatrician. All with years and years of hands on experience and knowledge.
After translating it to an U.S. version, everything was first checked with existing information on the internet and parenting handbooks. Then a group of very nice dedicated, experienced specialists reviewed it and gave their input. This group consisted of three pediatricians, a midwife, doula and Ob-Gyn.
And on top of that all, everyone that worked on The First 8 Days of Being a Mom has experienced the wonder, excitement, and exhaustion of the first 8 days of being a mom first hand. What better source is there!
